Toyota Logo Meaning
Some of the most famous brands around the world have become recognizable thanks to their logo. Many of those logos have a specific meaning that makes them even more special for their respective brand. Toyota’s logo is one of those, and we are excited to share the story behind it.
How Long has the Current Toyota Logo Been in Use?
The current 3-circle emblem that we are all so familiar with was designed in 1989 (to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary) and began to appear on company products and materials the following year. There was actually a specific reason why this logo was made. Up until this time, TOYOTA was typically used as the label on vehicles, but there was some confusion with its previous name “Toyoda” that came from the company’s founding family. The company name was officially switched to Toyota and the logo was made to create identity standards.
Is There a Special Meaning Behind the Logo?
Yes! If you look closely, the two smaller circles within the large circle form a “T” for “Toyota,” along with “trust” between drivers and the company. The largest circle represents globalization and technological innovation.
