Benefits of Driving a Toyota or Honda Vehicle for Holiday Traveling
The holiday season usually means an upswing in traveling. We listen to our friends who are dreading the idea of hosting their in-laws who are flying up from Florida. And our coworker is excited to be escaping the holiday and going on a Caribbean cruise. For you, there is still the idea of going home to Minnesota to visit your extended family. But should you drive or fly?
Here at Allan Nott, we are advocates for driving to your holiday destination for a variety of reasons. The first is that on average, driving in cheaper than flying – especially if you are traveling with a spouse and two kids. We just took a look online and roundtrip tickets between Cleveland and Minneapolis are running at a minimum of $350. With a family of four, that comes to be $1,400 – and that is before any extra fees are added on! Luckily, driving from Lima to Minneapolis is about 10 and a half hours (assuming that the weather is good and traffic isn’t horrendous), so it can be done in a day. And if you drive a family-friendly vehicle like the 2019 Toyota Highlander, you would need less than three tanks of gas for the roundtrip – which is certainly much more affordable!
We also love that we have more cargo space to work with when we drive our own vehicle, no matter if you are driving the Honda Civic or the Toyota RAV4. That means you can bring along more suitcases (or more gifts) without paying extra fees!
Finally, you have the freedom to enjoy extra comfort with just your family! Most of the vehicles in the Toyota and Honda lineup offer enough space for you and your passengers to stretch out. And you can enjoy your favorite holiday tunes with your family thanks to built-in infotainment systems!
